Next week I depart Ijmuiden, The Netherlands together with a group of Dutch bloggers to attend the Traverse Bloggers Conference 2014 taking place in Newcastle in the UK.
This will be my first European travel bloggers conference ever. I’ve only ever attended one travel blogger conference while living in my home country of South Africa – the Getaway Travel Bloggers Conference in 2012. The Getaway Travel Bloggers Conference was a huge inspiration to me as a blogger. In fact, shortly after the conference I left South Africa to travel and work remotely from numerous European countries. If it weren’t for this conference I would never have realized the utter sense of fulfillment one can obtain from keeping a blog and the many opportunities to meet interesting people that go hand in hand with this.
The Traverse Bloggers Conference therefore presents a brand new and exciting opportunity for me – this time to connect with European travel bloggers and to simultaneously explore Newcastle upon Tyne and all it has to offer – especially by way of arts and culture sights.
A group of Dutch Travel Bloggers and myself will be transported via ferry overnight to our destination in Newcastle courtesy of DFDS Seaways. I am eager to meet this group of likeminded people passionate about sharing their travel experiences through blogging. And what is more is that DFDS Seaways has also organized numerous events and dining experiences upon arrival especially for us bloggers! What a treat!
Lastly, I hope to learn as much as possible from the Traverse Travel Bloggers Conference. There are many workshops for travel bloggers on a myriad of topics including travel video editing, photography, social media, WordPress and more. This will be a great opportunity to learn from others and to acquire further inspiration to take my blog to a whole new level.
