I must say that the best one Euro I’ve ever spent while travelling has to be on a bus ticket from Nice, France to Monaco. I boarded bus number 100 from Garibaldi Place in the Old Town in the direction of Monaco. Because it was springtime and also quite early in the morning I was lucky to escape the tourists and boarded mostly with locals.
The trip to Monaco is about 20 minutes and I recommend that if you’re planning a similar trip to sit on the right-hand side of the bus facing forward so you can observe the breathtaking scenery synonymous with this stunning coastline. Azure waters, pebble beaches and white yachts are commonplace in the Côte d’Azur.
People are often of the idea that Monte Carlo and Monaco in general are places only the rich can afford. This is true if you plan on moving there. However, an ordinary visit will only set you back a couple of Euros. I travelled there on very little in fact. I spent 2 Euro on the bus (return ticket) and packed my own lunch and water.
I really wanted to go inside the famous casino and so I paid the 10 Euros to enter. It’s really worthwhile going inside as there is magnificent decor and you’ll feel very posh walking through the building, as though on the set of a James Bond movie.
The changing of the guards at the palace and the gorgeous views of the promenade cost nothing at all.
Not only the rich have the opportunity to soak up the sun in Monte Carlo. You can do it too on only a few Euros.
Monaco is amazing……
