Cristalljoia is the most beautiful crystal and semi-precious stone shop I have ever come across. The store is filled with thousands of brightly coloured crystals and stones on stands and shelves.
This is power in numbers and the myriad of colours, shapes and designs is breathtaking. In fact, Cristalljoia is a feast for the eyes and one certainly doesn’t know where to look upon entering!
I’ve always loved the beauty of crystals and found their healing properties and meanings most interesting. As a child I enjoyed going to Scratch Patch in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town only to spend hours holding the stones, appreciating their utter beauty. I would sit with my bare toes sinking between the stones, feeling their coldness but always appreciating their brilliance.
There is definitely something so captivating about thousands of crystals and semi-precious stones in a single store. I don’t know the names of many of the stones and certainly cannot identify them. But after venturing inside Cristalljoia, I have an overwhelming desire to go back, to study the stones, cradle them (if only this was allowed!), wear them on my décolletage, hands and wrists and seek out their meanings. To hold these natural pieces of magic is to reconnect with the earth and with our selves.
